On-line Donations
Detroit Conference Camp and
Retreat Ministries have an outstanding record of offering life-changing
programs of Christian discipleship and hospitality, and of service to our
Conference churches and families. With your help we can achieve even more.
For more information about the many ways to give to our ministry, and how
your gift can make a difference to our campers, families, and the churches
we serve, please visit one of the links on this page.
You may select one of
the following areas of current critical need, so your gift can go where you
choose:

|
Camp Scholarships: A week of camp can be a life-changing
experience for those involved. New friendships, skills,
self-confidence, and faith development are all nurtured in the camp
setting. The Board of Outdoor and Retreat Ministries does not deny
participation based on inability to pay. Gifts to camp scholarships allow us
to assure that a camp experience is available to all. In 2008, Outdoor and Retreat Ministries granted approximately 167 scholarships for a total of $25,993. |
Camper Bibles: Bible study is one of the primary practices that help build lifestyles of
Christian discipleship, and is an important part of camp and retreat
experiences. The American Bible society is now offering the opportunity to
provide a special camp and retreat edition of the Bible for our campers. The
cost of a Bible is approximately $4. Your gift will help us provide Bibles for our
campers. |

Outdoor and Retreat Ministry
Development: Your support
for outdoor and retreat ministry development helps make capital improvements
at our camp and retreat sites, providing facilities for summer camping and
also for churches and their members to use throughout the year. Recent
donations have paid for the comfort station at Myers Lake and a residence for the
Judson Collins program director. Your gift will help enable additional
improvements to our camp and retreat sites. |
Outdoor and Retreat Ministry
Programming: Detroit Conference Outdoor and
Retreat Ministries offer life-changing programs of Christian discipleship
and hospitality. Significant faith development, as well as new friendships,
skills, and self-confidence are all nurtured in the camp setting. Gifts for
this ministry will be used to provide volunteer and paid staff training and
support, Bible study curriculum materials, program supplies, special
programs, international staff support, and more. |

Outdoor and Retreat
Ministries Endowment: An endowment is an invested fund. The
earnings are used each year to support camp and retreat programs and
facilities. Some current projects funded by endowment income include Retreat
Lodge upgrades at Judson Collins Center, electrical
upgrades at Myers Lake, automatic doors for the
Littleton Lodge at Lake Huron, and camp scholarships. Gifts to endowment will help assure the
long-term health and effectiveness of our ministry. |
