Superior Backpacking Grades 9-12 Camp Kinawind
NEW Offered once every three years, discover why Lake Superior Provincial Park, Canada, is such an incredible place. Campers will backpack along the granite coastline of eastern Lake Superior, where the red ochre pictographs (pre-historic rock paintings) of the Ojibwa people can still be seen. The trail then leads to the mist-shrouded inland lakes of the Agawa Mountains and up the Agawa Falls Canyon. Led by experienced guides Sam Crabtree, Bron and Rev. Scott Harmon, this promises to be an exciting and challenging week as campers encounter God’s great creation in this remote wilderness experience. Entry into Canada through Sault Ste. Marie will require a US Passport, which is the responsibility of the camper/parent to obtain. This is a rigorous backpacking experience requiring both endurance and preparation. It is not an entry level trip. If your camper’s ability is in question, please contact the camp deans prior to registering. Register early - space is limited. June 22-28. Cost $330. Event ORM 1143.
